I loving honours.... Its realy a very wonderful experience which involve 3 main components, namely study, lab work and teaching 1st year lab. except for studying, I'm really enjoying the hectic but interesting life.
Getting really involved in research, loving the way chemistry goes, but also i'm lucky to have reactions working which is a very important source of interest building factor in research. There are alot of time where experiments do fail me, but with perseverance and most importantly, the help from wonderful people, I have manage to make things work till date.
As for the 1st year labs... I was extremely nervous, stressed about it. not being very knowledgeable but yet have to teach them is a very challenging task. But I really love it. I had bad times too with the kids but after time, you get to know them, be friends with them, try to understand what methods would be more efficient to teach them etc. Really happy to put in effort to create new ideas to bring across what I want to convey and having others to be impressed by the effort is really fulfilling. And you also get lots of amusing times during labs, the qns they ask, while marking their reports, the ans they give... I can finally understand how a lecturer/ parents would feel... sometimes you just dont know if you should laugh or cry...
Anyway, although this year is really hectic and painful, but it has its wonderful times too.. loving and hating it at the same time...
